To provide and lead engineering expertise for process scope of work including conceptual and basic design until detailed engineering. To lead engineering design team as to make sure overall project will achieve CAPEX and OPEX optimization as well as to make sure the design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the process system equipment meet the oil and gas rules and regulations, client’s standards, comply to the safety requirements and the operational applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the process scope of work from conceptual and basic design through to detailed engineering.
  • Lead the engineering design team to ensure the overall project achieves CAPEX and OPEX optimization.
  • Ensure design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation of process system equipment meet oil and gas regulations, client standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain high standards in the engineering process to ensure operational applications are met
  • Ensure all process designs comply with safety requirements and operational applications.
  • To prepare and provide PFD’s, P&ID’s, specifications, data sheets, drawings, calculations, and reports to meet project deliverables requirements.
  • Review of Vendor offers and Preparation of Technical queries
  • To monitor and verify detailed engineering works provided by other party (i.e. detailed engineering consultant) to make sure their drawings and documents submission meet project engineering deliverables and requirement.
  • To prepare and provide technical proposal for commercial department to come out with comprehensive project budgetary proposal.
  • To manage and coordinate interdisciplinary interface requirement that provide necessary technical input to other engineering team.
  • To meet project cost optimization by providing engineering design that fit for purpose with minimum cost thus lowering CAPEX and OPEX project expenditure.
  • To comply with quality standard (ISO 9001) that ensure engineering design deliverables are of high quality.
  • To analyze and to establish system design using computer simulation. and software to make sure that design provided are safe and reliable.
  • To communicate with vessel operations and collect their inputs for engineering design.
  • To liaise with vendor and supplier for engineering proposal and to assist them in meeting design objectives.
  • To work closely with procurement and commercial departments to make sure all equipment procured meet requirement of technical specification.
  • To assist with the refurbishment and conversion scope for contractor in vessel conversion project to make sure all necessary process modification works, upgrading works or new installation works are covered in detail.
  • Attend engineering workshop including HAZOP, HAZID, SIL.
  • To guide and develop Process Engineers and provide career path eg. Provide external/internal training and exposure to our business industry eg. Offshore Commissioning, Construction Site Relocation etc.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered with BEM
  • 15 to 20 years of upstream oil & gas for offshore offloading facilities FPSO, FSRU, FLNG, FSO
  • Good hands on experience in simulation of Heat & Balance, concept selection and basic design preparation of PFD, P&ID and equipment sizing.
  • Good decision experience for oil stabilization gas compression, dehydration dew point central, other gas treatment processes. Experience in FLNG/NGL Systems etc. will be an advantage.
  • Should possess knowledge of Process Engineering codes and standards in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Good leadership & communication skills
  • Possess excellent commercial awareness
  • Computer Literacy (Words, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)
