Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to assume a HR Business Partner (HRBP) role to drive and support the People Strategy and initiatives for our Audit & Assurance practice, ensuring alignment with the Firm's people policies and business priorities. In this role, you will serve as a Business Liaison and People Advocate, fostering strong collaboration between Audit Partners, business leaders, and employees to bridge expectation gaps and enhance overall employee experience, team productivity and ultimately, business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Workforce planning

  • Understand the current Audit & Assurance employees’ capabilities and skills development to anticipate immediate and future business needs and develop practical action plans to meet those needs
  • Understand the implications of future talent demands and work closely with the Audit Staff Partners and Talent Acquisition team to ensure talent pipelining is in place for workforce planning purposes
  • Analyse HR metrics, potential areas of concerns and provide actionable insights and solutions on a monthly basis to Audit Staff Partners to guide decision-making and problem solving on people challenges and issues

Talent Management

  • Execute and run Talent Management initiatives and strategies to build organisational capability and continuity for talent development, retention and engagement
  • Support the business in implementing action plans and/or best practices as the result of insights from Employee Pulse Survey and any other internal surveys including exit interviews
  • Drive the performance and rewards review cycle, including goal setting, performance appraisals, bonus allocation and salary increments. Facilitate bi-annual performance reviews with Audit Assistant Managers to Audit Directors as a moderator to ensure fairness and transparency in the performance review process
  • Identify underperformers, provide constructive feedback, implement performance improvement plans, and ensure fair and consistent resolution in alignment with the Firm’s policies
  • Discuss with Audit Partners to identify training and competency needs of current Audit & Assurance employees by working closely with the Learning & Professional Development team in executing structured learning and development plans for its employees on annual basis
  • Develop a new and suitable mentorship programme to be rolled out to Audit Assistant Managers and above
  • Manage and provide advice on, and resolve employees relation issues ensuring fairness and in line with the Firm’s values, as and when necessary
  • Ensure all questions and requests from Audit & Assurance employees are attended to efficiently and/or adequately heard and communicated to Audit Staff Partners on a timely manner
  • Foster employee engagement/motivation by promoting recognition and regular employee communication

Strategic Talent Initiatives and Planning

  • Drive people strategy and initiatives by working closely with Audit Staff Partners and People & Culture team (Talent Acquisition team and HR Operations team) and Learning & Professional Development team in line with the Firm’s people policies and business priorities. This includes recruitment strategy, workforce planning, talent management and employee experience
  • Understand and provide a point of view on peoples’ policies and practices recommended by HR Committee or People & Culture, and be able to formulate, implement and regularly review the policies and practices within the Audit & Assurance practice to ensure relevance and timely adoption

Influencing Cultural Change

  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve employee experience and team productivity

Education and professional skills / knowledge

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources, Business Administration or any related discipline
  • With at least four(4) years of professional HR experience in a professional services firm or multinational/banking/consultancy environment, specifically as a HR Generalist and/or a HRBP is highly preferred
  • Well versed in local HR practices and statutory requirements
  • Proven track record of driving and implementing people strategy and initiatives

Other experience/skills:

  • A pro-active team player with high level of energy, pleasant personality, comfortable to communicate effectively with diverse group of individuals and ability to work independently
  • Strong in problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of managing and completing priorities within tight time constraints
  • Displays high level of maturity and sense of responsibility and believe in nurturing a positive workplace environment
  • Good English communication and writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
