Job Purpose:

The Head, Risk Management (HLFG) will be responsible to assist the Chief Risk Officer to effectively manager risks of Hong Leong Financial Group as a financial holding company and any other ad0hoc matters that arise. This role will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess enterprise-wide risk management requirements at HLFG level and ensure that industry best practices on risk management are adopted across the Group.
  • Coordinate risk management methodologies and plans across HLFG group and develop new or improve existing risk management programs and techniques, where applicable, to achieve consistency in standards and efficiency.
  • Assist in proposing HLFG level risk appetite thresholds to HLFG Board, and to coordinate with respective entities to ensure that the Group collectively comply within Group risk tolerances.
  • Assist in advising HLFG risk committee and Board of significant risk headwinds, and have a firm handle on risks that may arise from evolving conditions in the economy and markets.
  • To consolidate risk exposures across the Group and assess areas of concentration risk, and implement measures to mitigate risk concentrations.
  • As part of the Group Risk Management Division, participate in enterprise-wide level risk management and compliance related projects or assignments that are applicable to both HLBB and HLISB.

Key Requirements:

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Banking or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience, preferably from the financial services or Big 4 Accounting Firms.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, liaison with regulators, governance related activities.
  • Basic understanding of banking, investment banking or insurance industry is an added ad
