Basic Job Purpose:
- The Cloud Security VP is responsible for overseeing company's cloud security strategy, ensuring the protection of data and systems in cloud environments.
- This executive role involves leading a team of security professionals, developing and implementing comprehensive security policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- The VP collaborates with other senior leaders to align cloud security initiatives with business objectives, addresses emerging threats, and manages incident response.
- Additionally, the Cloud Security VP stays abreast of industry trends and innovations, providing strategic direction to continuously enhance the organization's cloud security posture.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a strategic vision for cloud security aligned with the organization's overall business goals, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure ongoing compliance of cloud environments with relevant security standards, regulations, and contractual requirements through regular audits, assessments, and compliance monitoring activities.
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors, evaluating their security posture, negotiating security agreements, and overseeing the implementation of security controls in vendor-hosted environments.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of cloud security professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and opportunities for skill development and career growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and best practices in cloud security, and driving innovation and optimization of security processes and controls.
- Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership and the board of directors on the state of cloud security, key metrics, compliance status, and significant security incidents or risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and cloud security with in-depth knowledge on various cloud platforms.
