Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Supervise the review and timely submission of corporate tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring full compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Oversee tax compliance processes, including Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Withholding Tax (WHT), and other relevant filings.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members to cultivate a high-performing and motivated team.
- Provide strategic guidance and coaching to enhance technical expertise and overall professional growth.
- Foster collaboration within the team and with cross-border colleagues across diverse industries.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Lead discussions and meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, local auditors, and member firms.
- Serve as the primary liaison to facilitate seamless communication and efficient service delivery.
Tax Advisory Services:
- Provide expert advisory services on corporate tax, real property gains tax (RPGT), and stamp duty matters.
- Support clients in navigating tax incentive and grant applications, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Process Optimization and Technological Advancement:
- Drive process improvement initiatives by leveraging technology to enhance reporting efficiency and client service delivery.
- Assist in onboarding new clients and standardizing tax processes for greater operational effectiveness.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships, proactively identifying opportunities for business development.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering tailored advisory solutions and maintaining clear, professional communication.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities:
- Undertake additional tasks and assignments as required to support client services and departmental objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or a recognized professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, MICPA).
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Strong technical proficiency in tax compliance, advisory services, and corporate regulatory matters.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and tax software. Experience with Power BI or other data analysis tools is advantageous.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Experience in project management, particularly involving cross-border assignments, is an asset.
- Knowledge of technology-driven tax process transformation is desirable.
