Requirement: o Minimum 16 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry o Fluency in Vietnamese is required, as the Electronic Technician will collaborate closely with the Vietnamese vessel team on the vessel/jack-up rig. o Experience in Oil field equipment and spare parts. o Industrial environment, offshore marine & drilling operations. o Experience in Deeply understand rig daily operation JOB’S PURPOSE/SCOPE - The Electronic Technician assists the ET on the Installation with the maintenance, repair, testing and verification of the electronic equipment and automated systems on board the MODU. - Ensures that all the equipment is duly tested and verified prior to surveys and commissioning. - Ensure that the operation and maintenance of the electrical installations and the electrical equipment are kept on such a high level that breakdowns during operation are avoided. Be well acquainted with the legislation in respect of the working environment and safety, DRILLING DIVISION safety and environmental policy. - Ensure that this is applied in the daily work on board. Particular attention to be paid to the Permit to Work (PTW) system and implementation of electrical safety. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1) Ensure that the operation and maintenance of the automatic electric systems and associated components and other electronic equipment installed on board the rig are maintained on such a level to avoid break down during operations. 2) Check that the above tasks are carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations in force together with the Quality Assurance System of PV DRILLING - Drilling Division. 3) Inspect and test regularly, the automatic electric systems and electronic equipment installed on board the rig and ensure that the equipment at all times is in a safe and well maintained condition and is in compliance with the regulations and has the necessary certification and documentation. 4) Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance on all automatic electric systems and electronic equipment on board the Rig in accordance with PVD Quality Assurance System (in particular the Preventive Maintenance Programme) and under the management of the ET. 5) Ensure that the Emergency Shutdown system is in full working order at all times. 6) Assist the ET regarding technical questions in respect of modifications and other matters regarding the automatic electric systems and the electronic equipment. 7) Ensure that oscilloscopes, multi-meters and all testing equipment is available and serviced. 8) Check and calibrate the gas detecting equipment and other warning and alarm systems on board frequently. Ensure also that fire dampeners are in working order. 9) Cooperate closely with the Rig Engineering Department and assist as required. 10) Maintain the filing of drawings and manuals for the automatic electrical systems and the electronic equipment. 11) Assist the Materials Coordinator with the ordering of spare parts and keeping an inventory of electronic and electrical components. 12) Conduct himself in a manner which safeguards his own and his colleague’s safety and health. 13) Advise on the safe operation of electrical equipment. Perform duties safely in accordance with instructions, procedures and training. 14) Perform duties safely in accordance with instructions, procedures and training. 15) Carry out electrical isolation in conjunction with the Permit to Work (PTW) system. 16) Cooperate in enhancing PV DRILLING - DRILLING DIVISION safety standards. 17) Check and calibrate gas detection equipment onboard. 18) Responsible for the documentation and recording of jobs within his duties. 19) Knows and correctly executes Emergency assignments in accordance with the Station Bill. 20) Knows the Rig abandonment procedures and is prepared to act quickly and decisively under the direction of the OIM, ET and Rig Supervisors. 21) Knows the location and the use of the alarm systems in case of a fire or Emergency. 22) Renders assistance within his personal qualifications in case of personal injury and reports any knowledge of the injury to the OIM, ET and Rig Supervisors. 23) In the case of any equipment damage, this will be reported to the OIM, ET and Rig Supervisors immediately. 24) Assist as directed by the OIM Chief Electrician and Rig Supervisors.
