Position Overview The ESG Assistant Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing our sustainability initiatives for the assets and portfolio under management. This position requires a deep understanding of sector-focused sustainability regulations, benchmarking and reporting, and the ability to drive strategic ESG initiatives that align with our goals and values. The ESG Assistant Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, developing sustainability strategies, and reporting on the performance and progress of these initiatives. Key Responsibilities Sustainability Regulation Compliance Monitor and interpret relevant local, national, and international sustainability regulations and standards. Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to adhere to regulatory requirements. Benchmarking and Reporting Develop and manage sustainability benchmarking and performance measurement frameworks. Collect, analyze, and report on ESG data to assess sustainability performance. Utilize sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRESB, SFDR, etc. to ensure consistent and transparent reporting. Risk Management Monitor emerging ESG trends and assess ESG risks and opportunities. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address ESG challenges. Stakeholder Engagement Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote ESG awareness and initiative and to address ESG risks and opportunities. Communicate ESG performance and initiatives to senior management. Skills and Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, real estate, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG management, sustainability, or a related field within the real estate sector. Knowledge of sustainability regulations, standards, and best practices specific to the real estate industry. Experience with sustainability benchmarking and reporting frameworks such as GRESB, SFDR, etc. Skills and Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex ESG data and trends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ESG performance and initiatives to diverse stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners. Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for sustainability and ESG. Certifications Relevant certification in sustainability or ESG, such as GRESB AP, is highly appreciated.
