Job Summary: The Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of the company’s freight forwarding and logistics operations, ensuring effective financial planning, budget management, and regulatory compliance. This role demands a deep understanding of the logistics industry, cost optimization, and strategic financial management to drive growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Planning & Analysis: o Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals. o Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. o Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction. 2. Accounting & Reporting: o Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger. o Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports. o Maintain compliance with local, state, and international financial regulations. 3. Cost Control & Profitability: o Implement cost accounting and control processes to improve operational efficiency. o Monitor freight rates, fuel costs, and other logistics-related expenses to optimize margins. o Conduct profitability analysis of shipping routes, client accounts, and service offerings. 4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management: o Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational stability. o Oversee banking relationships, credit facilities, and investment activities. o Develop strategies to manage foreign exchange risks and hedging for international transactions. 5. Risk Management & Compliance: o Implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. o Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, including customs compliance and international trade laws. o Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance. 6. Team Leadership: o Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance. o Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CFA preferred. • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the freight forwarding or logistics sector. • Strong understanding of global shipping processes, customs regulations, and international logistics. • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems). • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
