Procurement Engineer

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing the procurement processes and overseeing cost control and contract administration for engineering projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure that procurement activities are conducted efficiently and that costs are controlled effectively. Job Responsibilities : o Develop and implement procurement strategies for engineering projects. o Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors. o Prepare and issue Request for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). o Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for engineering projects. o Monitor and control project costs, including tracking expenditures and identifying cost- saving opportunities. o Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors. o Resolve contract disputes and issues in collaboration with legal and project management teams. o Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and schedules. o Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance and project cost status. o Ensure all procurement documentation is properly filed and accessible for audit purposes. Job Requirements o Candidate must possess Bachelor’s Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. o 1 year of experience in in procurement within an engineering or construction environment. o Able to speak and write in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (able to speak and write in Mandarin will be an added advantage). o Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and cost control. o Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. o Proficiency in procurement and project management software. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team. o Strong leadership and team management abilities. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. o Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. o Knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards. o A team player with strong leadership, supervisory skills and able to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment. o Excellent analytical and organizational skills. o Exposure to commercial projects for robust resume development.
