REPORTING TO: Head, Corporate Development

DEPARTMENT: Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As part of the Corporate Development team, the candidate shall perform tasks and support all initiatives undertaken by the department. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Group, namely in the strategic planning process. The candidate shall bring experience in strategic planning within a corporate environment, in achieving business objectives including but not limited to the development and execution of the Group’s strategic initiatives

Business planning

  • Develop and implement the Group’s strategic planning process, included but not limited to set objectives, develop strategic goals, business initiatives and monitor progress
  • Lead the strategic planning process, with market analysis and competitor assessment to support business division in developing key initiatives to be translated to financial plans
  • Drive review on a periodic basis, to track progress with analysis against robust business plans that deliver these financial plans and prepare presentation deck for Management
  • Manage engagement of stakeholders in an efficient and effective manner included to coordinate overall activities and ensure quality deliverables
  • Track Group’s business plan including but not limited to its key performance indicator, strategic goals, financial targets and prepare all necessary reports, presentation decks and related papers as required by Management

Financial analysis

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret financial, operational data to identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement with recommendations for improvement
  • Perform variance analysis on actual financial performance against targets with recommendations for improvement
  • Investment analysis
  • Provide insights on potential opportunities and risks to support strategic decision-making
  • Perform research on potential investment study included but not limited to sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess the impact of the potential investment, market conditions, and risk factors on the organisation's financial outcomes. Provide insights on potential opportunities and risks to support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate investment opportunities included but not limited to M&A

Project management

  • Manage stakeholder engagement included but not limited to coordinate overall activities and ensure quality deliverables
  • Project manage strategic projects from end-to-end up to operation
  • Provide advisory on strategic projects relating to corporate matters
  • Implement ad-hoc project and initiatives as required

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in accounting, economic, finance, statistic, investment or other related disciplines
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CFA or any other equivalent. Professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • At least 12 to 15 years working experience in the relevant function

Skills

  • Good communication skill
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organisation skill and time management skill to meet tight deadline and be result oriented
  • Independent, able to work under minimum supervision
  • Well verse with Microsoft Power Point, Excel & Word
