  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Overview

An IT Functional Tester is responsible for evaluating and verifying that software applications meet business requirements and function as expected. They conduct functional testing, create test cases, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure software quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze functional requirements, user stories, and business processes to develop test plans and test cases.
  • Execute functional, regression, system integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Identify, document, and track defects using test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or ALM.
  • Work closely with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Perform manual and automated testing as required.
  • Validate application functionality across different platforms (web, mobile, and desktop).
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure compliance with testing best practices and quality assurance (QA) standards.
  • Provide test reports and communicate test progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
  • Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, ALM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of automation testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in an Agile or Scrum environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in functional testing.
  • ISTQB certification is a plus.
