Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a technology roadmap to support academic and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with university leadership to identify and prioritize technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance institutional capabilities.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of IT systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Manage budgets for technology projects and operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Supervise IT services for academic, research, and administrative needs, including campus management system, learning management system (LMS), ERP and research computing platforms.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate digital tools into teaching, learning, and campus operations.
  • Drive smart campus projects and promote digital literacy among staff and students.
  • Develop and manage digital platforms that improve the student and faculty experience.
  • Ensure the university adheres to data protection and cybersecurity standards.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls related to information security, data management and access governance.
  • Ensure that systems, processes and documentation are audit-ready and to lead the remediation efforts should there be any non-compliance.
  • Identify and address potential technology-related risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Build strong relationships with academic and administrative stakeholders to align technology services with institutional needs.
  • Represent the university in technology-related forums and partnerships.

SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Head or Director of Technology, preferably in higher education or the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, educational technologies, and digital transformation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex technology projects.
  • Expertise in budgeting, vendor management, and resource optimization.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to RM30,000.00 per month
