Position: Hand Therapist

Location: Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur (Medical Center)

Working days: Monday to Friday : 9am to 5pm, Saturday : 8am to 1pm

Salary from RM3000 - RM4000 (depends on experience)

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma / Bachelor in Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy.
Minimum 2 years of related physiotherapy/occupational therapy experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of Hand Therapy interventions, practice methods and professional skills.
Good understanding of roles of other health care professionals.
Up-to-date knowledge of hand rehabilitation theories, practises and procedures.
Working knowledge of computer software (email, internet) and Microsoft Office applications.

Job scope:

To be professionally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care.
To adhere to proper care and safe working practices in handling patients and equipment.
To undertake assessment of patients, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques.
With appropriate support, to formulate prognosis and recommend best course of intervention, including developing discharge plans.
Liaise with other healthcare providers to provide and receive relevant information about medical history and progress in regards to patients’ care.
To formulate and deliver hand therapy treatment programmes based upon knowledge of evidence of the treatment options available.
To monitor patient during treatment and reassess patient after completion of every treatment rendered.
To continually evaluate patients’ progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes if required.
To ensure adequate education and counseling of patients and their relatives in the course of a patient’s rehabilitation.
To continually ensure a safe and clean working station.
To be responsible for planning and prioritising your own patient case load.
To manage clinical risk within own patient case load.
To be competent for the safe use of all equipment and techniques before use.
To be responsible for maintaining up-to-date clinical records.
To maintain relevant statistical information.
