PURCHASING ASSISTANT MANAGER
The Purchasing Assistant Manager will assist with sourcing raw materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and components for production. This role requires a solid understanding of the metal stamping process and supply chain management, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier & Vendor Coordination:
o Assist in identifying and selecting suppliers for raw materials such as metals, alloys, and components.
o Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
o Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality materials.
o Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies, delays, or quality issues related to materials.
2. Material Procurement & Inventory Management:
o Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and components to ensure that production requirements are met without overstocking.
o Assist with material forecasting based on production schedules, demand, and historical data.
o Ensure accurate tracking of materials and work with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials.
3. Order Processing & Documentation:
o Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
o Track order status, monitor delivery timelines, and ensure that materials are delivered according to production schedules.
o Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts for audit purposes.
4. Cost Control & Reporting:
o Assist the Purchasing Manager in analyzing purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
o Help prepare reports on purchasing activities, material usage, and cost trends for senior management.
o Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
5. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
o Work closely with production and operations teams to understand material needs and ensure smooth coordination of purchasing activities.
o Help resolve supply chain issues that may impact production timelines or material availability.
o Assist the Purchasing Manager in developing procurement strategies to meet both short-term and long-term operational needs.
6. Quality Assurance:
o Support the Quality Control team in ensuring that purchased materials meet the necessary quality standards and specifications.
o Work with suppliers to resolve any quality concerns or issues that arise with materials delivered.
7. Market Research:
o Stay updated on trends in the metal stamping industry, such as material innovations, supplier changes, and price fluctuations.
o Assist in the identification of new suppliers or alternative materials that could improve cost efficiency and supply chain resilience.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in a manufacturing or metal stamping environment.
· Skills:
o Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
o Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing software.
o Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
o Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
o Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
o Familiarity with quality control standards and material specifications.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
