QA Specialist
Primary Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for all Food Safety & Quality Food Service Matters in Malaysia by developing, planning and directing Vendor Assurance & Quality Assurance Programs to ensure that Raw Materials, Finished Goods and Bought In Finished Goods (BIFG) conform to ARYZTA quality specifications, standards, legislative compliance and customer expectations.
In addition is to responsible to manage and work with all local suppliers, customers, and our ARYZTA teams in Malaysia servicing their needs in respect to Food Safety & Quality functions.
This position will work closely with local site QA Teams, supporting projects as requested to benefit the ARYZTA business.
Quality Assurance:
01. Assure in-plant quality assurance programs from raw materials and finished products conform to ARZYTA quality specifications, standards and customer expectations.
- Audits the established process control checks and quality systems on a continuous basis and provides of the findings in a timely manner.
- Assures the maintenance of comprehensive quality assurance records that are easily accessible.
- Maintains comprehensive Quality Assurance manual which includes current technical data and applicable company standards and policies.
- Assists in development and recommendation of quality specifications and standards for raw materials, the production process and finished products on a continual basis.
02. Handle Customer Enquiries for local and export markets
03. Ensure vendor assurance partners meeting FSQA & Supply Requirements
04. Manufacturing QA interface / connector between Commercial & internal QA team
05. Coordinator on Customer complaints related issues (escalate to OEM & manufacturing site)
06. · To keep up-to-date and abreast on food safety and regulatory issues and knowledge. To advice, communicate and react necessarily to the issues arise or may arise as a preventive measure to ensure compliance to food safety to assigned company products and scope
07. Provide regulatory supports which includes:
- Ensure regulatory compliance on raw materials, product formulation, product label as well as communication materials
- Advise internal and external stakeholders on regulatory requirements
- Liaise with regulatory authorities/ consultancy agencies for custom clearance, new additive application and product registration, free sales certificate application or any clearing documents needed specific by the respective country of export
- Provide ongoing support to product development (NPD team) for regulatory issues.
- Provide regulatory support to currently marketed product as necessary
- Liaise with local authorities for application of Veterinary Health Certificate for any new animal based by product for export market
- Conduct supplier audit for manufacturing plant
- Handle Vendor Assurance Program for OEM partner, raw materials, packaging material supplier
- Liaising with Purchasing team for ingredients inquiries from export customers
- Communication support to Export team regarding updated on changes of certification, production and product
- Support Marketing team in any regulatory compliance in designing till publishing any business related materials to the market
- Support Commercial and Sales team in advising/ providing guidance to local or export customer in any regulatory compliance matter
- Conduct food service visits and product cuttings on a regular basis as requested and program schedules (BIFG)
General:
- Ensure compliance of the ARYZTA Quality Policy and Policies and Procedures relating to Food Safety and Product Quality
- Adheres to all Policies and Procedures, including OHS and Environment
Qualification and Skills:
- Minimum a Bachelor degree in Food Science or other science disciplines with related food manufacturing experience
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience in food industry
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of product line and manufacturing processes, general knowledge of food industry
- Familiar with GMP, HACCP, FSSC, VHM standard requirement
- Having experience in regulatory compliance/affairs in the F&B or FMCG industry or Food Trading industry. Sound knowledge and comprehension of local and ASEAN food regulations is required
- Having experience in regulatory compliance of DVS requirement for exportation will be an advantage
- Good communication (written & verbal) skills in English. Understanding other languages will be an advantage
- Meticulous and able to work in fast-pace environment

Good communication skills in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.
