OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION To champion all communications and Branding concepts and strategies both within the hotel and externally, thus maximising hotels brand awareness in line with the hotels positioning statement within the targeted markets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - To assist Marketing and Communications Manager to develop the hotels yearly branding and communication plan in conjunction with the hotels yearly marketing plan so as to support and drive market penetration and overall sales effectiveness - To assist Marketing and Communications Manager to develop pro-active communications and advertising plans (monthly and yearly) aimed at achieving results and developing awareness thus maximising the power of branding worldwide - To develop opportunities for sponsorships and partnerships that will enhance and support branding thus maximising market penetration and exposure through endorsement by third parties - To develop key relationships with our associates, partners, Public Relations consultant, Advertising Agency, Events Management consultants, suppliers etc, so that associates and partners’ satisfaction drives the performances of these companies, thus we are able to extract the best performances from them. This is a key ingredient that supports the hotels marketing and sales performances as well as drive for excellence - To develop and maintain a media contact database, similar to sales with account listings, including the following: name of company / type of medium: newspaper or magazine or publication or radio, television etc, contact details updated every quarter, to include, updated, telephone / mobile, email addresses, with contact persons data. i.e. as well as, date of last date contact, reason or purpose of contact, any outcomes, date of last gift or giveaways (accepted or rejected) date of press releases sent (coverage achieved not achieved) - To develop and maintain close relationships with both local and major feeder market media contacts to maximise opportunities for exposure and develop not only awareness but third party endorsement of the hotel through these channels - To monitor, develop as well as control distribution of hotel collaterals and publications where appropriate ensuring corporate ID guidelines are applied - To support and develop in the production of hotel collaterals, advertising and promotional activities in all department - To develop the hotels photographic library for quick reference, easy usage procedures with focus on being customer friendly. Photography should have a focus on the “WOW” factor to create impact, as pictures say a thousand words, out of the box concepts to drive the performance of this - To develop press release concepts that is creative yet informative in copy and a style to maximise and capture coverage from (journalists / editors) so they welcome our releases rather than bin as trash - Oversee the development and implementation of the hotel marketing plan and associated activities - Create, develop and market key events for the hotel, especially during key business periods - Communicate effectively to target markets, the amenities and benefits of the hotel, including hotel refurbishments, food and beverage provisions, conference, banqueting, events, etc - Work with local third party partners, including local media, and maintain professional working relationships with local official bodies - Ensure an accurate and constantly expanding comprehensive media and marketing contact management system relevant to the target audiences of the hotel - Work closely across all hotel departments, seeking proactive opportunities and planned promotions to address specific business challenges, as required M&C Rewards • Championing the M&C Rewards Program, updating members’ database and communicating with corporate office on a periodic basis. Update stats on member’s growth • Updating members points as well as handling enquiries • Processing of redemptions for members • Ensure updates and communications content are sent to corporate office on time • Develop and update report templates based on specifications and business needs • Perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy of report data • Work with the Marketing & Communications team to prepare campaigns for members, including communicating with members, sending invites for special events, follow-up calls, promotions, etc
