The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental protection in the workplace. This includes the identification of hazards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, training staff, conducting audits, and improving safety procedures to minimize risks. Key Responsibilities: -Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. -Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. -Maintain records of accidents, incidents, and safety audits. -Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints to determine root causes and recommend preventative actions. -Organize and deliver health and safety training for employees to ensure they understand safety regulations, procedures, and emergency protocols. -Review and update emergency procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid protocols. -Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and properly maintained. -Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. -Liaise with managers, consultant and clients at site on health and safety related matters. -Liaise with external safety agencies and regulatory bodies. -Prepare reports for management on health and safety compliance and recommend improvements.
