Job Description:
The SQL Report Developer & Database Administrator will be responsible for designing, developing,
and optimizing SQL Server databases while also creating complex reports using Crystal Reports.
Additionally, this role involves database administration tasks to ensure performance, security, and
availability of the database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
SQL Server Development & Optimization:
- Design, develop, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions to support application needs.
- Implement query performance tuning and index optimization to improve database efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity and implement best practices in database development.
Crystal Reports Development:
- Design and develop complex Crystal Reports for business intelligence and operational reporting needs.
- Optimize reports for performance and accuracy using SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Collaborate with business users to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective report designs.
- Maintain and update existing Crystal Reports as business needs change, ensuring reports remain accurate and relevant.
- Provide training and support to end-users on report usage, helping them understand and utilize the information effectively.
Database Administration (DBA) Activities:
- Manage SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor and tune database performance, security, and availability.
- Manage database security, user roles, and access control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Patch Management and Deployment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in SQL Server development and administration.
- Strong expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, and database indexing.
- Strong experience in designing Crystal Reports and integrating them with SQL Server databases.
- Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Profiler.
- Experience with SQL Server Agent Jobs, SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), and database automation.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) in addition to Crystal Reports.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server) is desirable.
- Certification in Microsoft SQL Server (MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent) is a plus.
