Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the company's tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all tax returns.
- Prepare and review tax calculations, including corporate tax, goods and services tax (GST), and other applicable taxes.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to verify compliance with local, state, and international tax regulations.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of documentation for tax audits and inquiries.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of taxes.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the company's operations.
- Assist in developing tax strategies aimed at optimizing tax liabilities and enhancing financial performance.
- Provide support in the preparation of financial statements, specifically in relation to tax provisions and disclosures.
- Facilitate training for internal staff on tax matters and compliance best practices.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate finance and tax management or related finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using tax and accounting software packages.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend solutions effectively.
- Team-oriented mindset, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
