Responsibilities:
- Perform design calculations related to tasks assigned.
- Design low voltage (typically 480VAC and lower) power and control systems for automated process applications including control system panels, motor controls centre specifications, safety systems, and automation network design.
- Prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, and other necessary project documents
- Review, check, and edit electrical drawings as required.
- Able to develop sequence of operation/functional specifications.
- Develop PLC application software.
- Develop HMI application software.
- Develop SCADA Reporting software.
- Supervision of construction and check-out of control system panels and components in vendor’s facilities.
- Maintaining schedules and being cost efficient.
- Provide formal and informal training to client operating and maintenance personnel related to process system operation and control system maintenance.
- Provide ongoing technical and troubleshooting support as requested by clients as on-going support after start-up.
- Provide supervisors and project managers with reports on project progress with respect to work completed and work still required, actual time requirements, versus estimates, and technical matters related to start-up and/or client service.
- Document and maintain proper records of all design changes made during installation and start-up work, to serve as a basis for the development of as-installed control system drawings and documents.
- Maintain close contact and coordination with supervisor and project managers concerning all internal and external activity and scheduling
- Flexibility for travel for installations and onsite start up is required.
- Configure test & commission of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD).
Requirements:
- Must be proficient in Siemens Simatic S5 (added advantage) and S7 Programmable Logic Controller programming. (PLC) Simatic Classic and TIA Portal.
- Ability to work with Human Machine Interface (HMI) or SCADA e.g. WinCC, Wonderware, Citect.
- Ability to Configure, Install, Test and Commission Drives/VFD/VSD, Servo experience will be an added advantage.
- Troubleshooting skills are of paramount important especially Industrial Control system connected to Instrumentation.
- Computer skills - AutoCAD, word-processing, spreadsheet is a must and others would be an advantage.
- Managing contractors on-site to preform work tasks assigned safely and adhering to quality standards in accordance to specified method statement.
- BSc Computer Science or B.Eng. Electrical & Electronic engineering or equivalent.
- More than 3 years field working experience in the Industrial Control System and instrumentation field.
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Must be able to drive with valid car driving license and possess a car.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
