ABOUT FINCO
The Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) is a collaborative initiative pioneered by financial institutions (FIs) in Malaysia, with the guidance of Bank Negara Malaysia, to provide underprivileged children and youth with the guidance and educational tools they need to achieve their life goals. FINCO seeks to achieve these objectives through the collective development of programmes in English Proficiency, Life Aspiration, Financial Literacy and Disaster Relief as well as through shared programmes supported by individual financial institutions.
FINCO works with government Primary and Secondary schools across Malaysia which have high intakes of students from B40 communities to provide teacher training, student workshops and reading resources as well as other initiatives which aim to provide students with equal access to high quality educational opportunities. This Project Coordinator role will support the Backbone, specifically the Senior Manager Communications and Events, as well as the FINCO Delivery Team on all aspects of programme delivery and reporting.
MAIN DUTIES
The Project Coordinator will support the delivery of programmes under the Life Aspiration pillar and the execution of overall Communications plans. Responsibilities include supporting project management, monitoring and evaluation and communications activities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Stakeholder Management
- Support communications and maintain strong relationships with the relevant teachers and financial industry members, to ensure smooth programme implementation.
- Be updated on all FINCO programmes and be an ambassador for FINCO.
Communications
Social Media: Support the Senior Communications Manager in maintaining and updating FINCO’s social media channels.
- Create, schedule and monitor engaging content across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
- Respond to comments, messages and enquiries promptly to foster a strong community presence.
- Work with Programme Managers to identify programme content or activities which may be of interest to social media audiences, in line with their respective plans.
Website: Support the Senior Communications Manager in maintaining and driving website traffic.
- Ensure information and resources are updated on a quarterly basis, or as required.
- Carry out research on student-related news and topics and identify gaps in content to create SEO-friendly engaging blog content.
Internal and External Communications: Input into regular communications with internal and external stakeholders
- Support the Programme Managers by collating and inputting into the creation of impact stories.
- Support the development of the internal and external communications plan.
Branding and Events: Support the upholding of brand guidelines and brand identity, and organising internal and external events
- Assist in ensuring all internal and external content and communications materials maintain a consistent look and feel across all platforms.
- Support the Backbone team in the organisation of relevant events.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the Senior Communications Manager with monitoring and evaluation exercises.
- Track and analyse social media and website metrics to evaluate effectiveness of content.
- Collate quarterly audience reach and other data and feedback for internal reporting purposes and to inform development of the communications strategy.
- Ensure content and images used by FINCO, its’ partners, Education Partners and members comply with copyright and FINCO’s Child Protection Policy.
- Support the collection of stakeholder feedback through the annual survey.
Life Aspiration
Project Planning: Support the delivery team in preparing for activities to be delivered throughout the year.
- Understand project objectives and intended outcomes and outputs.
- Input into implementation plans and delivery timelines.
- Support Programme Managers in responding to stakeholder questions and enquiries.
- Identify any goods, services and resources that need to be procured during project delivery and assist in the procurement process, as required and in line with FINCO’s finance SOPs.
- Ensure child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and diversity and Anti-Bribery and Corruption policies are considered during planning and consistently implemented, and any potential or actual malpractice is reported.
Project Delivery: Support logistical arrangements to ensure all activities are delivered to high standards and within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Liaise with JPN, schools and volunteers to arrange training and workshop logistics, including dates, times and any required permissions.
- Support training and workshop logistics including venues, vendors and catering or platforms for online delivery.
- Support workshops, as required, to ensure smooth coordination of logistics.
- Liaise with schools to disburse workshop or project materials.
- Track submission of programme, competition or survey documents and data from schools, students or teachers and organise and collate in shared documents or folders.
- Create and distribute programme certificates.
- Ensure FINCO’s branding and project IP is protected and in line with service provider agreements.
- Work closely with the Programme Managers and Accounts Manager to ensure accurate reporting of finances.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the delivery team with monitoring and evaluation surveys.
- Distribute baseline and endline surveys and track and collate responses in shared folders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in communications or any related discipline with relevant experience (if available).
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage several activities at the same time to meet deadlines and in line with quality standards.
- Strong communication skills including fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- An analytical mind and ability to think critically to solve problems that arise.
- Proficient user of Microsoft office and familiarity with Canva and Capcut.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective working relationships with remote colleagues.
- Willingness to learn from experience and feedback.
EXPERIENCE
- Fresh graduates or at least 1-year of relevant full-time experience in supporting project activities and liaising with stakeholders.
- Experience in managing logistics and following project plans.
- Experience of collating and organising data.
- Experience in copywriting, content writing and content creation for digital platforms.
- Experience of working with non-profits or on CSR or community engagement programmes with a focus on impact (desirable).
