Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Interior Designer located in Kuala Lumpur. The Junior Interior Designer will be responsible for space planning, architecture, construction drawings, interior design, and FF&E selection. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with clients, creating design concepts, developing construction drawings, and selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of design concepts and space plans.
- Create detailed drawings, renderings, and mood boards using design software (e.g., Enscape,SketchUp, ).
- Research and select materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures that align with project requirements and budgets.
- Collaborate with senior designers to prepare client presentations and proposals.
- Participate in site visits, measurements, and client meetings.
- Support project coordination, including liaising with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and design innovations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in interior design (internships or academic projects are acceptable).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of design principles, space planning, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A portfolio showcasing design projects and creative thinking (academic work is acceptable for entry-level candidates).
