Plant Manager - Malaysia
Location : Johor, Malaysia
Reporting to : GM Manufacturing
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Our client is an established company that manufactures, markets and distributes high quality OTC pharmaceutical product. Its brand is a leader in many overseas markets and is famous around the worlds. Today, its product is world famous being sold in over 100 countries in 5 continents.
THE ROLE
Seeking an experienced leader to join the plant to ramp up activities and transition to the new plant in 2026.
DIMENSION
Grow the production operation from its current headcount of 150 to 250 and beyond.
IMMEDIATE CHALLENGE
• Transit the production to the new plant by 2026. Oversee the move of staffs, production and equipment
• Ensure production remains undisturbed during the transition. Able to meet the production schedule smoothly
• Develop vision for the expanded new plant to ramp up hiring and manufacturing capacity in the longer term
REQUIREMENTS
• At least 15 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Well verse in GMP requirements and familiar with audits.
• Experience in leading cross functional teams and managing large headcounts
• Experience in new plant commissioning and setup
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure GMP standards are maintained in the factory and to liaise with DCA on regulatory matters.
• Plan production schedule and organize workforce to produce the finished goods required by market demand.
• Manage the production schedule to ensure optimum usage of manpower and equipment.
• Monitor/control the stock inventory to ensure optimal stock level.
• Ensure that goods are produced and shipped promptly.
• Audit manufacturers/contract manufacturers as and when requested.
• Assist to audit suppliers being part of GMP requirements.
• Ensure proper and tidy maintenance of the factory premises and machinery.
• Analyse requirements for machinery and raise Capex for purchase when necessary.
• Ensure follow up with custom official on Duty draw back and CJ exemption (sales tax)
• Ensure proper handling of documents transaction with bank and government office whenever necessary.
• Estimate direct material and labour costs for new products introduced.
• Monitor annual expenses to ensure plant operated within budget.
• Assist in sourcing new/alternate suppliers in Malaysia. Negotiate for better terms with suppliers.
• Source for the best price of packaging materials which comply with specification.
• Initiate product recall when necessary.
