Overview

The Asst. Manager for Global Markets Risk Surveillance is responsible for driving the monitoring of the key market conduct risk of Global Markets and ensuring compliance with both internal policies/procedures as well as regulatory guidelines. This role reports to Head, Risk Management (Global Markets Risk).

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Market Surveillance

  • Co-conducting holistic market conduct risk surveillance through trades, markets, and communications.
  • Co-formulating the risk methodologies and policies for managing conduct, compliance and operational risks of Global Markets.

Analysis and Reporting

  • Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities where misconduct could occur in risk-taking activities by Global Markets and department are carried out and implementation of mitigating risk controls.
  • Driving risk reporting for market conduct to stakeholders and management on a periodic basis.
  • Ensuring adherence to escalation process is followed to address any non-compliance.

Support

  • Supporting enhancements and upgrades of the Bank’s Treasury system and monitoring and surveillance tools, which includes updating of new market conduct risk controls and conduct testing for any new upgrades.
  • Promoting good market conduct standards in Global Markets.

Requirements

  • Malaysian Citizen

Education/Qualification

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or relevant professional qualification in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Banking or similar discipline.
  • BRM, FRM or PRM qualification will have an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years working experience in a banking institution in market risk or market conduct surveillance or in a dealing capacity.
  • Strong interaction and be able to maintain effective working relationships with key business units, support units and management in carrying out credit counterparty risk functions.

Special Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
  • Knowledge in MUREX system, Microsoft Excel VBA and other programming would have an added advantage.
