The Payroll Assistant Manager based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is responsible for Malaysia and Singapore payroll processing functions, ensuring timely and accurate salary disbursements for employees while adhering to the country’s labor laws and statutory requirements in Malaysia and Singapore. The role includes managing payroll systems, compliance with taxation policies, and coordinating with HR and finance departments to ensure smooth operations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience for employees in Malaysia and Singapore.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian and Singaporean payroll laws, regulations, and statutory requirements, including EPF, SOCSO, PCB, and EIS.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage complex payroll calculations accurately.
- Familiarity with the Malaysian and Singaporean Employment Act and labor laws.
- Ability to stay updated with changes in labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll practices.
- Experience handling payroll for both Ops and Head Office employees.
- Strong knowledge of payroll calculations for permanent and part-time employees, including overtime computation.
Job Role:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for both employees in Malaysia and Singapore, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Process payroll for operational and head office employees, including full-time and part-time staff.
- Provide support on matters such as leave balances, overtime calculations, and salary adjustments.
- Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and statutory contributions for employees in compliance with local labor laws.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory payments such as EPF, SOCSO, PCB, and EIS in Malaysia, and CPF contributions in Singapore.
- Stay updated on payroll-related regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee payroll information.
- Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management regarding payroll costs and trends.
