Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Regional Director and Finance and Programs Manager in managing the administration, accounting and compliance of the Council’s operations in Southeast Asia.
- Assure compliance of regional operations with US State Department and USDAFAS rules and regulations.
- Manage the processing of regional expense claims
- Prepare account entries by compiling and analysing account information
- Document financial transactions by entering account information into global accounting system.
- Properly, adequately and separately account for project specific programs, funded by membership and not necessarily in the UES.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing financial statements for program and DEA funds, and other reports.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing and preparing additional backup documentation.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures and assuring compliance and business ethics.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls and guidelines.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Assisting the office lead in the event of any audit—either internal or external.
- Maintain a direct line of communication with USGC home office for cash flow needs and requirements.
- Comply with US State Department, USDA-FAS and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Help provide material for financial reports (MMPERs)
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and staying abreast of all GAAP.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of experience in full-set accounting, along with a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
