An Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Job Scope of an Electrical Supervisor 1. Electrical Installation & Maintenance -Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment -Ensure electrical works comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations and industry standards -Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems for safety and efficiency 2. Supervision & Team Management -Lead and coordinate a team of electricians and technicians -Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of projects -Provide guidance and training to electrical workers 3. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving -Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults or breakdowns -Implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime -Recommend improvements for electrical efficiency and system reliability 4. Compliance & Safety -Ensure adherence to Electricity Supply Act 1990 (Act 447) and workplace safety standards (OSHA) -Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety measures -Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs 5. Coordination & Reporting -Work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to execute electrical work as per project requirements -Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and document site activities -Ensure proper inventory management of electrical tools and materials Requirements for an Electrical Supervisor 1. Educational & Certification Requirements -Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field -PW4 or higher certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an added advantage -CIDB & NIOSH certifications (preferred for construction or industrial projects) 2. Work Experience -Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or supervision -Hands-on experience in managing electrical projects and teams 3. Technical Knowledge & Skills -Strong understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and components -Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams -Knowledge of PLC systems and HV/LV electrical works (preferred) 4. Personal Attributes -Good leadership and problem-solving skills -Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines -Strong communication skills (Bahasa Malaysia & English) 5. Other Requirements -Willing to travel to different sites if required -Possess own transport (depending on job location)
