Job Summary: The Customs Declaration Executive is responsible for ensuring smooth and compliant customs clearance for import and export shipments. This role involves preparing and submitting customs declarations, coordinating with authorities, and ensuring adherence to Malaysian customs laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Customs Documentation & Declaration: Prepare, verify, and submit customs declarations for import and export shipments. Ensure accurate HS code classification and compliance with customs tariff regulations. Process duty and tax payments as required for clearance. Maintain and update customs-related records and documentation. Regulatory Compliance & Coordination: Stay up to date with Malaysian customs regulations, Free Trade Agreements (FTA), and duty exemption policies. Liaise with customs officers and other regulatory agencies to ensure timely clearance. Handle and resolve any customs queries, audits, or inspections. Ensure compliance with permits, licenses, and certificates required for import/export. Operational Coordination: Work closely with freight forwarders, shipping lines, transporters, and warehouse teams to facilitate clearance. Monitor shipment statuses and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders. Assist in problem-solving for customs-related delays or disputes. Reporting & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of customs declarations, duty payments, and other relevant documents. Generate and submit periodic reports on customs clearance activities and compliance. Support audits and internal reviews related to customs transactions. Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs declaration or related roles in logistics. Experience with Malaysia’s customs system (e.g., uCustoms, Dagang Net) is an advantage. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs laws, import/export regulations, and HS code classification. Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and duty exemption procedures. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
