Overview
GroupM is the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are
responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Manager, Media Planning to join us. In this role, you will be responsible as the second in command for all
media strategy and planning across the FMCG client in Malaysia and Singapore. You will be required to manage the complexity of the brand portfolio while mentoring a team of planners. As a manager, you will be required to wear multiple hats – thinker, translator, mentor, and executor. You will
be constantly challenged to shift gears between strategic thinking and execution nuts and bolts. The
client is among the top advertisers across the world and Malaysia and Singapore are no different. This is a large business for EssenceMediacom with tight systems and processes in place which you will be required to adopt and adapt to quickly.

In this role, your goals will be:
- Complete working knowledge of all systems, processes and deliverables set up specifically for the client media operations
- Complete knowledge of client-agency relationship matrix along with relationships with regional/local creative agency partners and GroupM Malaysia key contacts
- Complete knowledge of Malaysia media landscape – key media owners/contacts, trends, opportunities
- Be the trusted advisor for clients operating with no/minimal supervision from senior team members in the team
- Deliver media planning solutions for all brands across the Malaysia and Singapore portfolio
- Develop an accountable media mix based on target audience insights, market landscape, competitive analysis and consumer purchase behavior
- Stellar ownership of media plans – full accountability, in-depth and hands-on knowledge of
- Deliver monthly, quarterly reporting and deliverables with impeccable timing
- Serve as the key client contact from EssenceMediacom planning team
- Develop integrated media solutions. The team is already hybrid in planning and implementation,
- Obsession with process efficiency and project management
- Demonstrated ability to dive deep into data, keep focus on core objective and mine actionable
- Strong quantitative aptitude and TV planning fundamentals including – optimization, channel
- Full working knowledge and perspective of/on multi-screen planning
- In-depth knowledge of online video planning – 3rd party verification like DAR, MOAT
- Strong eye for balancing efficiency as well as effectiveness in planning and execution
- Budget management, tracking and reporting with 100% accuracy
- Good leadership and team management experience. This role has direct reports and will
- Strong relationship development and management skills with media owners and client alike
- Strong client servicing skills – you will be key point of contact between the planning team and
project to address client concerns/queries
- Effective presentation i.e. concise, brief and data based – both written and verbal to convince senior management teams at client
- Self-motivated
