CNC Machinist /Programmer
Job Description
A CNC Machinist (Computer Numerical Control Machinist) is a skilled worker who operates and programs CNC machines to manufacture precision parts. These machines use computer-controlled tools to cut, shape, and finish materials like metal, plastic, or wood.
1 Year plus on: Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, CAM software)
Key Responsibilities:
Reading Blueprints & Drawings – Understand technical plans and specifications for the part being manufactured.
Setting Up CNC Machines – Install and calibrate machine tools, adjust cutting speeds, and configure tools.
Programming & Operating CNC Machines – Input and adjust G-code or CNC programming to guide the machine.
Monitoring & Quality Control – Inspect parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to ensure accuracy.
Machine Maintenance – Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, CAM software)
Knowledge of materials and machining processes
Ability to use measuring instruments
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Work Environment:
CNC machinists typically work in manufacturing plants, machine shops, or aerospace and automotive industries.
