The Logistics Operations Officer/Executive will oversee the company’s logistics operations, ensuring the timely, cost-effective delivery of goods. This role involves managing transportation activities, coordinating import/export processes, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage multiple logistics tasks efficiently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee overall logistics operations, including transportation, shipping, and import/export activities.
- Plan and coordinate lorry drivers’ daily schedules in collaboration with the production and sales departments to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Monitor delivery status, ensure on-time delivery, and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Coordinate with carriers and outsourced logistics partners to optimize transportation efficiency.
- Ensure company lorries are well-maintained by monitoring maintenance schedules and reporting any breakdowns or issues to the workshop.
- Ensure all shipping documents (e.g., Bill of Ladings, invoices) are accurate and compliant with customs and shipping regulations.
- Monitor adherence to Malaysia customs clearance requirements, including Incoterms, HS Codes, and other import/export compliance protocols.
- Address and resolve logistics issues promptly and escalate any significant problems to management.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of logistics processes to improve operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma. Candidates who is STPM level with relevant logistics or operations experience are encouraged to apply.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in logistics or operations management.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Incoterms, HS Codes, Bill of Ladings, and Malaysia customs clearance requirements is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with different levels of the organization and external partners.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (required to communicate with certain clients, vendors, or partners from China).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Experience in coordinating fleet maintenance is a plus.
