Role Overview

  • The Senior Purchasing Executive is responsible for overseeing procurement activities, supplier negotiations, and inventory management for the catering business, including wedding halls and the central kitchen.
  • This role involves optimizing costs, ensuring the timely availability of quality supplies, and implementing catering software to enhance purchasing efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Procurement & Supplier Management:

    • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of raw materials, equipment, and supplies.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers for food ingredients, kitchen equipment, and event-related materials.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve the best value.
    • Ensure supplier compliance with quality, safety, and hygiene standards.

      2. Inventory & Stock Control:

      • Oversee inventory management for both the central kitchen and wedding halls to prevent shortages and reduce wastage.
      • Implement and monitor the catering software to track purchasing, stock levels, and consumption trends.
      • Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate stock records and minimize discrepancies.

        3. Order Planning & Forecasting:

        • Collaborate with kitchen and event teams to anticipate inventory needs based on event bookings and menus.
        • Develop demand-forecasting models to optimize procurement schedules and prevent overstocking.
        • Ensure just-in-time purchasing to maintain food freshness while reducing storage costs.

          4. Cost Control & Budgeting:

          • Monitor procurement costs and develop cost-saving initiatives.
          • Work closely with finance teams to align purchasing budgets with business objectives.
          • Identify cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.

            5. Software & System Implementation:

            • Implement catering software to streamline purchasing and inventory management.
            • Train staff on software usage and ensure proper system maintenance.
            • Optimize digital procurement processes for efficiency and accuracy.
