The Financial Markets Ombudsman Service (FMOS) is seeking highly motivated, experienced, and qualified professionals to join our team as a Case Manager in Kuala Lumpur.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with expertise in dispute resolution, capital markets, banking, or insurance to contribute to an organization dedicated to upholding fairness and integrity in the financial markets sector.
Position: CASE MANAGER Location: Kuala Lumpur Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive investigations and assessments of disputes lodged by eligible complainants against financial service providers and capital markets intermediaries who are members of FMOS.
· Analyse all available evidence, ensuring a thorough and impartial evaluation of each case.
· Facilitate mediation between disputing parties in a fair, professional, and neutral manner to encourage amicable resolutions.
· If mediation is unsuccessful, issue a well-reasoned and appropriate recommendation based on the facts of the case, industry best practices , regulatory requirements and the principle of fairness and reasonableness.
· Conduct research on legal issues and/or industry practices relevant to the cases handled.
· Analyse cases to identify patterns and systemic issues within the financial and capital markets industries.
· Contribute to FMOS awareness programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:Candidates must possess:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any other relevant discipline.
· Work experience in either one of the following areas:
(i) Capital Markets: Experience working with a capital market intermediary or a relevant regulatory authority overseeing capital markets.
Good knowledge and experience of the operations of the capital market, its regulatory and market framework and applicable laws especially in the areas
of retail investment in shares, unit trust, structured products and private retirement schemes is an added advantage.
(ii) Insurance Claims: Strong expertise in handling motor and non-motor insurance claims, with a deep understanding of the insurance claims process. Skilled in dispute assessment, investigations, and ensuring fair claim settlements in compliance with relevant laws, guidelines, industry standards, and market practices.
(iii) Banking & Payment Systems:
Experienced in banking operations, payment systems, internet banking, and credit card services, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and fraud prevention. Proficient in interbank transfers, digital banking platforms, and payment gateway integrations.
Well-versed in credit and debit card processing, merchant acquiring, and chargeback handling, with a solid knowledge of industry standards. Adept at dispute assessment, investigations, and ensuring fair claim settlements in line with relevant laws, BNM guidelines, industry standards, and market practices.
A strong grasp of banking regulations, KYC requirements, and consumer protection laws to ensure secure and efficient financial transactions is an added advantage.
Other Requirements:· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently, efficiently, and deliver results within stipulated timelines.
· A dynamic, outcome-driven mindset with a commitment to fairness and professionalism.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
