Job Description:
We are looking for a Public Relations intern to join our PR unit. In this role, you will be working closely with the Head of PR and assisting with the writing of media releases, scheduling PR events, corporate social media, conducting research and much more. You will also be working closely with other departments to determine their PR needs as well as agencies. To be a successful PR intern, you must be able to articulate well and have basic skills in copywriting, brand building and strategic thinking, event management.
Public Relations Intern Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Head of PR in implementing the company’s PR strategy
- Creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms and newsletters
- Coordinating the management of the corporate social media page
- Building relationships the media and on-ground management of media events
- Providing assistance to the PR manager with the scheduling and organizing of events
- Conducting research on marketing initiatives
- Monitoring of media coverage on events and media releases and highlights related to the company
- Updating media lists
- Performing other administrative duties
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism. Marketing and Branding will be considered
- Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic budget management skills to track spending on sponsorships, events and marketing materials
- Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with external and internal stakeholders
- Good research and analytical skills
- The ability to prioritize your workload and keep to strict content deadlines
- Willingness to attend corporate events after hours and on weekends
- Knowledge of copywriting and editing
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong command of English
