Environmental Safety Health Junior Executive
The Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) Junior Executive plays a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs that ensure workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee well-being. This position assists in identifying risks, enforcing safety protocols, and fostering a culture of sustainability and health within the organization. The ESH Junior Executive collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain regulatory compliance, minimize environmental impact, and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Responsibilities
1. EHS Data Management
- Collect, report, analyze and maintain monthly statistics on workplace accidents, occupational illness and environmental performance.
- Ensure all EHS related documents, such as policies, procedures and guidelines are up-to-date, accessible and compliant with current legislation.
2. EHS Advisory Services
- Provide advice and guidance on EHS, risk management and compliance with relevant legislation to all company departments.
3. Safety and Health Program Implementation
- Assist the Safety, Health and Environmental Committee in developing and executing occupational safety and health programs.
- Implement health surveillance programs to monitor the health of employees exposed to workplace hazards.
- Develop and implement programs to encourage safe behavior and practices among employees.
4. EHS Training Programs
- Develop and deliver EHS training sessions for employees and contractors according to the established training schedule.
5. Incident Investigation and Corrective Actions
- Investigate accidents, environmental incidents, near misses and unsafe practices plus effective corrective actions are implemented and documented promptly.
6. EHS Systems Development
- Develop, maintain up-to-date and continuously improve EHS systems and documentation.
7. Regulatory Compliance Support
- Support and stay update compliance with regulatory bodies (DOSH, DOE, Bomba and local authorities) during site inspection and ensure all requirements are met.
8. Emergency Response Coordination
- Provide support for emergency procedures and maintain an effective emergency response plan.
9. Scheduled Waste Management
- Coordinate the collection and disposal of scheduled waste with licensed contractors, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and proper documentation.
10. Environmental Monitoring Coordination
- Plan and oversee company’s’ activities for stack monitoring, chemical exposure monitoring and LEV monitoring
11. Fire Safety Inspections and Maintenance
- Conduct monthly inspections and ensure quarterly maintenance inspections of fire panels are conducted by contractors.
12. Fire Drills and Alarm Testing
- Organize and conduct annual fire drills and quarterly fire alarm tests to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by HOD.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred fields of study):
- Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Industrial Safety Management
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering with Safety specialization
- Other related disciplines in Science or Engineering
Additional Certifications (Desirable but not mandatory):
- NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) training certification
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) awareness or implementation training
- First Aid or Emergency Response certifications
