BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - New Business

General Characteristics

  • Drives execution of innovation objectives by leveraging competences of various stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyses, summarizes, and prepares information about developments concerning markets, products and competitors.
  • Works closely with the sales/marketing and R&D teams globally. Reports to the VP Sales & Marketing.
  • Requires 10+ years of experience ideally - with experience penterating new markets.
  • Sales and BD experience in latex products and/or dipped goods may also be an asset.

Principal Activities

  • Recognize market potential early on, systematically collect, analyse, and present customer, market, industry trends, and competitor information/data.
  • Search for new markets by identification of unmet needs within current or adjacent market spaces.
  • Explore technology push opportunities leveraging the company’s unique process competences in the field of high value secondary lattices.
  • Execute market assessments of adjacent applications emerging from customer inputs.
  • Maintain structured database of innovation business plans with all assumptions.
  • Structure innovation into actionable plans, drive execution of milestones and, if necessary, modify the plans to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Directly engage with potential new customers to develop new business with existing or new products or new applications of existing products.
  • Maintain and develop global pipeline of opportunities.
  • Suggests new programs for product development.
  • Search for reliable sources of market data.
  • Supports sales team on new product developments with ad-hoc marketing presentations.
  • Own company brand initiatives, including participation to trade or customer events, refresh marketing brochures and expand content of website.
