Job Purpose

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk-based IT audits, which also cover audit of digital transformation initiative(s).
  • Review and provide recommendations of improvement of MHB GIA’s procedures and guidelines and ensure its implementation as specified in the Internal Audit Charter & Memorandum and Standard Operating Policies and Procedures in the effort to improve the organizational processes, taking into consideration of feedback and inputs from the Auditee Management and MHB Board Audit Committee (BAC).
  • Determine the annual internal auditable areas and scope within an assigned portfolio by reviewing and assessing risks profiles to prioritize auditable areas for the development of Annual Audit Plan and long-term audit plan of MHB Group.
  • Develop the Audit Planning Memorandum (“APM”) of each identified audit assignment, detailing the audit objectives, audit scope, audit approach, audit schedule, auditee contacts and the job allocation among the team members. The APM subsequently acts as Terms of Reference to be agreed by Internal Audit and Auditee Management.
  • Prepare the Audit Planning Documents i.e. Risk and Control Assessment Matrix (“RCAM”), identifying among others the key risk factors, expected and existing controls, and determine data/ information for testing / analyzing for the assigned areas within an audit assignment. Understand and analyze the business and operational processes to identify high risk areas and key internal controls.
  • Drive and organize the execution of audit fieldwork for the specific audit assignment, with the team members, which includes:
  • Monitor the progress of fieldwork and ensure all audit coverage/ scopes are covered and review the completeness of audit coverage.
  • Establish and redirect resources to areas of emphasis.
  • Ensure the accuracy, relevancy and adequacy of supporting documents for audit coverage and findings.
  • Review and monitor the timeline, man-hours and overall budget of the audit assignment.
  • Ensure conformance to MHB Group Internal Audit procedures and methodology as well as the IPPF when determining the accuracy, relevancy and adequacy of supporting documents during the implementation of audit processes.
  • Undertake the detailed audit review on specific areas of significant impact for more complex business and operations where the risk is higher.
  • Evaluate and enforce that Root Cause Analysis are conducted and reported on Audit Findings and that Audit Recommendations and Agreed Corrective Actions are formulated and are acceptable by the auditee Management.
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing feedback and inputs on performance and quality of deliverables of audit engagement and identify strength and weakness to further elevate level of quality and performance of future audit engagements.
  • Ensure that the follow-up reviews are done on the audit status, to ascertain that auditee management takes appropriate actions on reported audit findings.
  • Resource person/ ‘champion’ within its identified portfolio and maintain the Master Planning Assessment Matrix (PAM) for future reference and adoption.
  • Execute programs/ initiatives in reviewing work processes, audit tools & techniques to further enhance and improve those processes and tools in achieving greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Execute ‘Knowledge Sharing and Lesson Learnt’ programs within the department, other BU/ SU/ Subsidiaries to disseminate and share audit issues and findings that would be useful in enhancing control activities and operational efficiencies.
  • Build rapport and effective working relationships with personnel outside MHB GIA to ensure smooth implementation of audit projects and for the enhancement of business awareness.
  • Coach and supervise subordinates towards the achievement of staff’s career advancement and towards high performing workforce. The audit manager also is to motivate, manage conflicts and coach his team members to obtain maximum support to achieved pre-determined audit objectives.

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in finance / engineering / project management or related disciplines.
  • Having a Certified Information Systems Auditor (“CISA”) qualification is a MUST.
  • Having a Certified Internal Auditor (“CIA”) qualification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years in managerial positions.
  • Ability to perform data analysis and / or data visualisation is a MUST.
  • Ability to manage risk-based IT audit (20% of the time) and risk-based non-IT audit.
  • (80% of the time) is a MUST.
