Job description:
- Continuously managing the lifecycle of the configuration items (CI) to maintain accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) through effective management of the discovery process.
- Troubleshoot issues related to the discovery process to ensure configuration items are discovered and dependencies are reflected in the system.
- Coordinates with relevant stakeholders in streamlining and maintaining the Configuration Management and ensure the configuration items are mapped accurately to the business application.
- Maintains accurate configurations information across the varied state of infrastructure assets.
- Continuously managing the lifecycle of the configuration items and ensure regular maintenance and housekeeping of the Configuration Management System data.
- Interfaces with other processes and/or business functions within the organisation to ensure they can leverage the benefits provided by the Configuration Management process and other functions within the ITSM tool
- Directs, prioritizes any corrective action identified in the Process and ensure the actions are duly carried out.
- Maintains, governs and designs ITSM process workflows aligning to business & stakeholders’ requirement, and ITIL best practices.
- Back-end support, troubleshooting, system integrations, upgrades, administration, and maintenance of the internal ITSM tool with focus on user experience and productivity.
- Produces reports and management dashboard, including impact analysis reports and configuration status reports as required.
- Identifies opportunities and proposes ideas for improvement with respect to tools, staff, training, process, procedures, work instructions and automation.
- Review ITSM related contracts, services, and SLA with support vendor or principal.
- Maintains and monitors End-of-support / End-of-Life information for hardware and software and produces relevant management reporting for the relevant stakeholder and senior management.
- Monitor and manage infra related software licenses and subscriptions to ensure timely renewal.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer in Science, Computer Programming or Information Technology.
- Proven working experience with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in ITSM CMDB configuration experience.
- Candidate must possess basic technical troubleshooting skills in various major operating system such as MS Windows, Linux, Solaris, AIX environment.
- Knowledge in BMC products is a must, ie: BMC Discovery, BMC Helix.
- Candidate must possess at least ITIL Foundation Certification.
