We work with governments, drivers, passengers, merchants, and the community, to solve critical problems in Southeast Asia. The team is responsible for the consumer-focused marketing efforts of all Grab services in Malaysia, including existing services like GrabPay, GrabFood and newer additions like GrabMart. Get To Know The Role

  • As a brand strategist / planner, you will tackle brand challenges head on —building brandlove, positioning products, enhancing promotions, and improving sentiment—while ensuring Grab’s voice stays consistent yet locally relevant.
  • You’ll work across Grab Malaysia’s marketing spectrum, from brand positioning to demand generation, corporate reputation, and partner success. Your approach blends logic and creativity, strategy and imagination.
  • You enjoy finding insights in the numbers everyone else misses and have the ability to make creative briefs sing.
  • You will report to Brand Manager, Grab Malaysia and working onsite.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

50% Marketing Campaign Strategy and Go-to-Market Lead

  • You will understand the goals of each brand or business initiative and help the team translate these into meaningful creative and media briefs.
  • You will collaborate with business and product marketing teams to design multi-channel campaigns, including media strategy, budget allocation, targeting, and ad optimization.

30% Brand Strategy

  • You will design and implement brand strategies and plans to build brand love and propel market growth/product adoption in collaboration with the Malaysia brand team, Regional brand planning, and marketing research/insights teams.
  • You will develop compelling narratives that resonate with our target audience and enhance brand storytelling. Craft clear, concise, and inspiring briefs to guide the creative team in developing high impact ideas.

20% Marketing improvement & Innovation

  • You will leverage Grab’s wealth of consumer data and insights, in addition to researching global and local best practices to inspire new innovative ideas and proactively propose initiatives.
  • You will monitor brand performance metrics to assess the impact of branding efforts. Use insights gained to improve future campaigns.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years in a marketing role / advertising agency role with expertise in brand communications strategy, campaign planning, and advertising.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and inspiring creative briefs.
  • You have to have a understanding of both digital and traditional media strategies and campaign execution.
  • You have to analyze data and turn insights into relevant strategies.
  • You naturally are organized and capability to manage several projects simultaneously.
