Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling & Storage:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming construction materials for quality and quantity.
- Store materials properly to prevent damage and ensure easy accessibility.
- Maintain an organized and clean storage area.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, receipts, and issuance using inventory management systems.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliation to prevent discrepancies.
- Monitor material usage and report shortages to the Procurement/Warehouse Manager.
Issuance & Documentation:
- Issue construction materials and tools as per project requirements and approved requests.
- Keep proper documentation of all transactions, including Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Material Issue Notes (MIN).
- Ensure all materials issued are recorded against the respective job or project.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
- Follow company safety protocols and maintain proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in material storage and handling.
Coordination & Communication:
- Work closely with procurement, project teams, and site supervisors to ensure timely material supply.
- Communicate with suppliers and logistics teams regarding material deliveries and discrepancies.
- Assist in coordinating the return of unused or damaged materials.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- SPM / Diploma or equivalent; certification in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
