Key Responsibilities:

Material Handling & Storage:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming construction materials for quality and quantity.
  • Store materials properly to prevent damage and ensure easy accessibility.
  • Maintain an organized and clean storage area.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, receipts, and issuance using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliation to prevent discrepancies.
  • Monitor material usage and report shortages to the Procurement/Warehouse Manager.

Issuance & Documentation:

  • Issue construction materials and tools as per project requirements and approved requests.
  • Keep proper documentation of all transactions, including Goods Received Notes (GRN) and Material Issue Notes (MIN).
  • Ensure all materials issued are recorded against the respective job or project.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous materials, if applicable.
  • Follow company safety protocols and maintain proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations in material storage and handling.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Work closely with procurement, project teams, and site supervisors to ensure timely material supply.
  • Communicate with suppliers and logistics teams regarding material deliveries and discrepancies.
  • Assist in coordinating the return of unused or damaged materials.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • SPM / Diploma or equivalent; certification in inventory management or logistics is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
