Job Summary: The R&D Processing Specialist is responsible for developing and optimizing mineral processing techniques and technologies to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure environmental sustainability. This role involves conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions across the mining value chain. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Process Development: Design and execute research projects to develop new or improve existing mineral processing methods, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching. • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to evaluate processing performance and recommend adjustments or innovations. • Material Testing: Oversee the characterization of ore samples to understand mineralogical and metallurgical properties. • Technology Integration: Assess and integrate advanced technologies, such as AI, automation, or green chemistry, to enhance processing capabilities. • Pilot Plant Operations: Plan and manage pilot-scale trials to test new processes or equipment. • Collaboration: Work closely with operations, environmental, and quality control teams to ensure R&D findings align with operational goals. • Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all process improvements adhere to local and international environmental standards. • Reporting: Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation of findings for internal and external stakeholders. ________________________________________ Qualifications • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering or related fields. • Experience: o Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mineral processing or R&D roles in the mining industry. o Proven track record of working with complex ores and innovative processing methods. • Technical Skills: o Proficiency in mineral characterization techniques and process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry). o Knowledge of equipment like crushers, mills, separators, and flotation cells. o Familiarity with sustainable mining practices and environmental regulations. • Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, innovative mindset, effective communication, and teamwork abilities.
