Job Description 1. Responsible to assist in setting the highest standard of clinical care and ensures that these standards are maintained. 2. Ensures sufficient supplies (surgical, medical and drugs) are maintained at adequate levels in the Department and always available to meet patients’ needs. 3. Interacts well with other departments and practices teamwork for the best interests of the patients. 4. Ensures working area are always clean and tidy. 5. Practises courtesy and diplomacy with staffs and patients at all time. 6. Attends appropriate study programmes, in-service training and mandatory updates, e.g. Code of Conduct, Emergency and Response Training, Basic Life Support and etc. 7. Organises the appointment of CT simulation and work together with Radiology staffs to ensure that the CT simulation procedure is carried out based on the Consultant’s request. 8. Organises the daily routine Radiotherapy treatment schedule, Consultant’s review and other Radiotherapy patients related schedule accordingly. 9. Treats patients undergoing Radiotherapy in accordance with the approved treatment plan and dose prescribed by the Consultant, which involves the operation of radiation equipment for patients’ set-up and radiation dose delivery. 10. Ensures Consultant’s requests are carried out and clarifies if in doubt. 11. Explains to the patients the procedure involved in the treatment and to convey any instruction from the Consultant regarding the treatment to the patients. 12. Switches on and warms-up the radiation equipment every morning in accordance to the manufacturer’s warm-up procedure. 13. Executes daily quality assurance procedures as directed by the Medical Physicist. 14. Assists the Medical Physicist in the calibration and quality assurance checks on the radiation equipment when required. 15. Reports immediately any suspected equipment malfunction to the Consultant, Medical Physicist and Biomedical Engineer. 16. Assists the Consultant in the CT simulation planning and treatment delivery of radiotherapy for new patients or upon request. 17. Moulds thermoplastic masks on patients and use any appropriate immobilization or positioning device which might be necessary in other situations to ensure that the outcome is achieved. 18. Fulfils the statutory requirements governing the safe use of radiation in relation to radiation safety of patients, staffs and members of the public by observing all local rules and professional standards. 19. Ensures legibility and accuracy of patients’ treatment records, charts and other documentation. 20. Adopts a caring approach to patients and relatives and communicates effectively. 21. Promotes and maintains a safe and conducive environment for patients. 22. Ensures patients safety at all time. 23. Always ready to assists patients who are non-ambulatory. 24. Ensures the radiation equipment are switched off at the end of the day. 25. Performs other appropriate tasks and duties within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities as assigned by the Management. Job Requirement 1. Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Radiotherapy or equivalent 2. Fresh graduate or minimum 2 years of working experience in Radiotherapy. 3. Good interpersonal and communication skills. 4. Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined in job performance. 5. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
