We are an established listed education provider in Kota Damansara. In line with our growth, we are hiring the above position to join our Group Finance Team within the shared services division.

The role will enable learning and growth as the Group Finance Department is always keeping abreast with the latest regulatory requirements and thus equipping our staff with the required knowledge as required to carry out his/her responsibilities efficiently.

Responsibilities:

To maintain the full set of accounts in accordance with accounting standards, in compliance with taxation regulations, local statutory requirements, and Group Policies.

Reporting

  • Accounts Closing/Financial record keeping – to maintain and update accurate financial records including sales transactions, expenses, and other financial activities related to the operations of the company assigned to you.
  • To conduct financial reviews and analysis of the monthly management reports, preparing monthly audit and tax schedules after the month-end closing.
  • To perform interco balances reconciliation.
  • To assist in monitoring the Company’s cash flow position.
  • Asset Management – To ensure timely and accurate recording of fixed assets, including adhering to the Group’s policy on safeguarding fixed assets such as tagging and sighting.

Accounts Payable

  • Manage accounts payable, processing various forms of payments within the timeline under the Group Service Level Agreement and in accordance with Group Policies, covering monthly statutory payments, utilities, vendors, petty cash & various other day-to-day operational payments in accordance with the Group business activities and ensuring all costs incurred is recorded in a timely manner.

Audit

  • To liaise with internal and external auditors providing such support and explanations to facilitate the interim and final audit as and when required during financial audits.

Taxation

  • To prepare tax computations and liaise with tax agents in relation to annual tax filing.

Banking Matters

  • Perform Bank reconciliation and liaise with the Group's bankers on administrative matters as and when required.

Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for process improvement including but not limited to automation of accounting functions for efficiency and accuracy.
  • To perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned, as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent.
  • At least five (5) years of working experience in a related field.
  • Experience in handling accounts and operation matters in a retail business will be an added advantage.
