About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Marine Superintendent based in Port Klang, Selangor. The position is a 3-month temporary role starting in March 2025 until June 2025, where you will be responsible for overseeing marine operations, ensuring safety compliance, and managing the overall performance of our fleet.

Salary Package: RM 13,000 - RM 18,000/month

Job Descriptions:

  • Coordinate and monitor the tasks carried out by the Ship Superintendent.
  • Oversee coordination regarding any equipment damage complaints related to BTV vessels.
  • Attend meetings, discussions, and workshops related to technical issues concerning BTV vessel operations.
  • Supervise feedback to the relevant officers regarding project management, planning, and repairs for LDA vessels and boats.
  • Supervise inspections and reviews upon receiving monthly reports from BTV vessels.
  • Monitor and oversee the preparation of specifications for the BTV vessel drydocking, in collaboration with the crew, 6 months before the scheduled drydock period.
  • Supervise drydocking activities.
  • Oversee the submission of information to officers concerning vessel expenses.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the department from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chief Marine Superintendent or in a similar senior marine operations role.
  • Excellent command in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
  • Possess a Certificate of Competency (COC) of at least Master of 3000 GT or more Unlimited Trade Voyages, or Chief Engineer of 3000 kW or more Unlimited Trade Voyages, in compliance with the International Convention on Standards, Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1995, post Manila Amendment 2010.
  • Experience in ship management and extensive knowledge in the implementation of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code).
  • Basic knowledge in Bridge Resource Management, Engine Resource Management, and Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the maintenance and operations of a fleet of vessels.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant software.
  • Malaysian Citizenship
