Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and supervision at bachelor’s degree and postgraduate levels.
- Develop and lead research projects, securing external funding where possible.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the department.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including publishing in high-impact journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committees and activities.
- Providing academic input for course development and new programme establishment.
- Maintaining appropriate records and making available information as required by management.
- Engaging in promotion including student recruitment as appropriate.
- Provide input and guidance on the direction of student learning and curriculum.
- Creative with an ability to adapt to a multi-cultural setting and to handle students of different nationalities.
Requirements
- PhD in Interior Design or a closely related field., and
- Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture (Part II) or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in teaching and research at the university level.
- Strong publication record in reputable journals.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment and advancing sustainability and innovation within the built environment.
- Advantage for the candidate which have experience minimum 3 years of teaching and industry in Malaysia.
- Proficient in Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an advantage.
- Registered as Professional Interior Designer or Graduate Interior Designer / Graduate Architect with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
