Job Overview

UCSI Schools is seeking a passionate and experienced Expat Drama Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging drama lessons, fostering students' confidence and creativity, and encouraging self-expression through theatre and performance arts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons that develop students' acting, storytelling, and improvisation skills.
  • Teach various aspects of theatre, including voice projection, stage movement, script interpretation, and performance techniques.
  • Foster students’ confidence in public speaking, teamwork, and creative expression.
  • Organize and direct school theatre productions, plays, and performances.
  • Assess student progress through practical performances, assignments, and presentations while providing constructive feedback.
  • Introduce students to different theatre styles, playwrights, and dramatic traditions.
  • Integrate technology and multimedia into performances where applicable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the performing arts curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Participate in school events, cultural programs, and talent showcases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in drama or performing arts.
  • Strong knowledge of theatre production, stage direction, and scriptwriting.
  • Experience directing school plays, musicals, or drama performances.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Passion for theatre, performance, and student engagement.
