Customer Service Executive - Import Forwarding

1. Shipping and Logistics Coordination -Coordinate shipments for imports, including scheduling, tracking, and ensuring timely delivery. -Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and suppliers to negotiate rates and ensure efficient service. -Manage shipping documentation (e.g., bill of lading, certificates of origin, customs paperwork). 2. Customs and Compliance Management -Ensure all shipments comply with local and international regulations, including customs, import controls, and trade compliance. -Work closely with customs brokers to clear shipments through customs, managing any issues that arise. -Stay updated on changes in import regulations and implement necessary adjustments in processes. 3. Documentation and Record-Keeping -Prepare, review, and verify import documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. -Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including shipment details, financial records, and communications with stakeholders. 4. Cost Control and Budgeting -Manage and control costs associated with import activities, seeking efficiencies in shipping and handling. -Prepare reports on shipping costs, and work with finance departments to manage budget allocations. 5. Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution -Identify potential risks in the shipping process and create solutions to avoid delays, such as rerouting shipments or securing alternative logistics providers. -Resolve any issues related to shipments, such as delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies in documentation. 6. Stakeholder Communication -Act as the point of contact between suppliers, logistics providers, internal departments, and customers. -Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders on the status of shipments. 7. Team Leadership and Training -Lead and train a team, ensuring they adhere to best practices in logistics and customs processes. -Provide guidance on complex cases and support team development for improved efficiency and compliance. 8. Data Analysis and Process Improvement -Use data analytics to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve overall logistics and forwarding processes. -Develop strategies to improve efficiency in shipping processes, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
