Lead Electronic Design Engineer (Automation)

Electrical Design & Safety: Designing machine control systems that adhere to CE and local safety standards. This involves creating electrical circuit diagrams (ECDs) for various purposes, including serial production, customer upgrades, and new machine development. A crucial aspect is identifying weaknesses in existing electrical processes and components, using data and calculations to support proposed improvements. Product Development & Enhancement: Collaborating with cross-functional teams (management, sales, assembly, R&D, procurement, and suppliers) to brainstorm product ideas. This includes conducting market research and analyzing competitor products. The role also involves redesigning existing products to enhance functionality, reduce lead times, address obsolescence, or lower costs. This includes creating design projects, specifications, and test instructions for new processes and parts. Prototyping & Testing: Overseeing the engineering and building of product prototypes. This involves rigorous testing and documentation to ensure functionality, usability, and durability. The role also includes presenting designs and prototypes to internal and external stakeholders. Engineering Change Management: Developing and distributing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to relevant personnel. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Resolving product and equipment issues both internally (across departments and plants) and externally (with customers) through remote or on-site support. Training & Documentation: Developing and delivering training to various personnel (assembly, training center, service, production, sales, and customers). Project Management & Collaboration: Collaborating with project managers to allocate and track resources for projects and evaluations. This role may also involve acting as internal project manager for specific development or evaluation projects. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving: Performing critical analyses, developing corrective and preventive actions, and actively participating in 5S activities to maintain an organized and efficient workspace. Hands-on Support & Procurement: Providing hands-on assembly support when needed. This role also assists with the selection and purchasing of parts, including providing technical support to sourcing efforts and clarifying specifications with suppliers. Requirements: Min Diploma in Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field Minimum 2 years' experience in an automation electronic designing Machine designing experience is an advantage.
