Viking, a dynamic company boasting an extensive and expanding fleet, offers a wide array of global cruise experiences. We are on the lookout for dedicated individuals to become part of our Housekeeping team.

ResponsibilitiesPublic Areas

  • Clean all public Guest areas, back-of-house (BOH), and crew areas, such as corridors, trolleys, lockers, and pantries.
  • Properly utilize cleaning products and equipment, and remove dirty dishes from public spaces.
  • Ensure the well-maintained condition of cleaning equipment and report any issues promptly.
  • Assist Guests with directions and information, strictly adhering to the STAR Service Standard.
  • Manage garbage segregation effectively and maintain Public Health Standards.
  • Participate in luggage-handling duties during embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Set up and clear pool deck furniture, keep the towel station stocked, and distribute face towels.

Guest Rooms

  • Conduct daily cleaning of Guest bathrooms, toilets, balconies, windows, and furniture.
  • Vacuum and clean the assigned corridors and pantries.
  • Stock lockers with clean linen, towels, and amenities.
  • Report any maintenance issues identified in Guest areas.
  • Guarantee Guest room confidentiality and security, and handle complaints professionally.
  • Provide ice deliveries, laundry, and shoeshine services.
  • Be well-versed in room features for introductions when necessary.
  • Assist in managing stateroom minibars as required.

Requirements

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be 21 years old or above.
  • Appearance: No visible tattoos on exposed body parts are allowed.
  • Experience: For entry-level positions, one year of experience as a Utility/Hotel Custodial or similar role in a premium-brand hospitality environment, or a formal hospitality training with at least 6 months of experience. For more experienced roles, at least two years of experience as an Assistant Stateroom Steward/ess or similar, preferably in the cruise industry.
  • Language Skills: Possess good to solid English communication skills to interact effectively with guests.
  • Personal Attributes: Be guest-focused, service-oriented, have a positive attitude, maintain a professional appearance, and uphold high hygiene standards.
  • Work Skills: Be capable of working safely with chemicals and cleaning tools.
  • Physical Ability: Be physically fit, able to lift 50+ lbs., walk extensively, and stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge: Have an understanding of Public Health and Sanitary Policies.
  • Education: A relevant educational background in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
