Responsibilities:
1) Operational Management:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as necessary to meet deadlines while ensuring optimal utilization of machinery, equipment, and labour.
- Analyse production output and data to identify bottlenecks, resolve production issues, and implement improvements.
- Prepare and submit production reports to key decision-makers.
2) Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Implement quality control measures to minimize defects and waste.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality protocols.
3) Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and staff.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages employee engagement and teamwork.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
4) Cost Management:
- Monitor and analyse production costs to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and safety standards.
5) Safety Management:
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness among employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in manufacturing operations, with a minimum of 10 years in managerial / management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
